Most of our commercial builders have firstly acquired their DB-Us (domestic) and, after a few years have either had enough of the public…..and decide to take advantage of the commercial category of registration – usually starting with a CB-L……Commercial Builder Low Rise.
Once again, to prove your case to the CVBA, they want you to show evidence and documentation for three (3) jobs – that are deemed to be commercial in class, but will allow a deep excavation job – such as a domestic basement carpark.
Many of our clients typically can offer up one or two jobs, but often not a third. As we have three commercial licenses we can help the client acquire the third job, by spending time on site with one of our commercial jobs. We also help them secure a technical referee
Then we train the heck out of the guys to ensure they have learned enough about commercial construction to convince the VBA that you deserve to be awarded a commercial license.
Speaking as a commercial registered builder the author believes that the commercial category of registration is a profitable, less emotional license – a business to business arrangement. No home warranty – much less stressful way to operate.
